In 1976, Adriana van Aardt and her husband Johan, are having marital problems. Adriana drives to their holiday farm near the dusty rural town of Duiwelslaagte. En route she has to stop and pick up her husband’s cousin Frans, whom she has never met; Johan will join them later. Sparks fly between Adriana and Frans. A journalist arrives and warns Adriana that Frans is not who he appears to be.
